1. USING PARADOX
(1) Paradox Main Screen
To start Paradox - double click on the Paradox 3.5 Icon. The Paradox Main Screen is split into
three separate areas:
- Menu
The top line on the screen displays the main menu options.
The bottom line gives a brief
description of the currently highlighted option.
- Workspace
All processes being carried out in Paradox are displayed on the workspace.
This is the
main central area on the screen.

Message Area
The bottom line displays messages and prompts for the user to follow.
(2) Menu Overview
- To choose a main menu option either:
Press F10 to activate the main menu and use the left or right cursor to highlight the
required option and press <Enter>, or
Press F10 then the first letter of the required option,
- To choose an option from a drop down menu either:
Use the up or down cursor to highlight the required option in the drop down menu and
press <Enter> to select
or Press the first letter of the required option,
- Notes
- If an option is selected by mistake press <Esc> to return to the previous menu.
- The Home key will move to the first menu option and the End key will move to
the last menu option.
- options that have a triangle next to them will open a sub menu.
- At any time while using Paradox the F1 Key will access the Paradox Help screens.
The Help screens are context sensitive; the Help screen relates directly to the task
currently being performed when F1 was pressed.
